Popis: This analysis provides modeling results for beam propagation of a low power HFchemical laser operating on the first overtone through summer conditions at a coastalsite. The first set of cases consists of three low rotational quantum number (J) lines. The second set of cases consists of the single J = 6 line. While there is significant strehi intensity degradation in only one case, many of the propagations exhibit the same small-scale structure expected in higher power systems. 1 Statement of the Problem For this analysis we explore the utility of a "low" power laser device at a coastal site operating on highly absorbing laser lines for replicating the atmospheric propagation performance of a"high" power device at a desert site operating on a line with less absorption. In particular,we wish to determine if the low power experiment will develop small scale structure in the intensity and phase. The low power device is a HF chemical laser operating on multipletransitions of the first vibrational overtone (v 2 —p
