Popis: The term “Super Pulse” (SP) was initially coined to describe certain regimes of a specially designed CO 2 laser [1]. In general, it refers to a mode of operation of a laser when laser emission is produced in a series of pulses with peak power significantly higher than average emitted power and with repetition rate significantly higher than that of “normal” pulsed operation. Until recently, diode lasers were not available in the SP mode, which limited soft-tissue surgical capabilities of such systems compared with CO 2 and solid-state-based systems.
