There is a dangerous zone of step voltage in 6-35 kV power networks with an isolated neutral in the emergency mode caused by a ground fault about a point of damage. People and animals occurring in the step voltage area face a severe danger of electrical shock and even death. It is also necessary to note that the zone of step voltage cannot be often visually defined and has no clear boundaries. The authors offer to warn repair and operation personnel approaching to this dangerous area to increase its occupational safety. For this purpose, they investigate the zone of step voltage in different emergency modes. They propose a new method for step voltage detection and a device implementing this method. |
