Dental implants are increasingly being used to treat conditions such as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction by changing the position of the mandible in order to eliminate the pain accompanied by the condition and eliminate the clicking noise associated with it when chewing food. This chapter focuses on the application of micromachining theory and application and the development of new dental tools to aid the medical procedures that are required to correct the TMJ condition. |
