Popis: 1. Aluminum oxide dispersed in the nickel matrix reduces the size of the grains and coherent scattering regions of the latter. These changes become particularly marked in alloys subjected to hot extrusion. 2. The compressive strength of extruded nickel-alumina alloys is higher than that of analogous alloys produced by the method of high-temperature sintering and of pure extruded nickel. The difference is particularly great at low degrees of deformation and high test temperatures. 3. The superiority of the mechanical properties of extruded alloys over those of alloys prepared by high-temperature sintering is due to their higher density, the smaller size of their grains and coherent scattering regions, and the smaller distance between their dispersed particles.
