Popis: The essay proposes some useful interpretative lines for understanding Pasolini’s expressive strategies up to the film inspired by Boccaccio: 1. the decision to adopt a short narrative form such as the short story; 2. the reworking of the original text; 3. the intersection between Dante and Boccaccio as builders of narrative structures that can be reused by the literary tradition; 4. the inclusion of medieval painting in the film, in particular the choice of Giotto (or the pupil) and Brueghel’s painting; 5. the soundtrack and the recovery of popular traditions.
