Many studies have been devoted to examining the neurotoxic effects of certain inorganic compounds (such as mercury and lead), trialkyltin, and low-molecular-weight organophosphate and organochlorine pesticides which induce nonspecific lesions of various regions of the nervous system, including the central nervous system (CNS) (Cremer 1981; Costa 1988; Kagan et al. 1988; Makhaieva et al. 1987, 1988).
