Popis: Ecological research frequently focuses on the harmful effects of environmental contaminants on the human nervous system. Many studies have been devoted to examining the neurotoxic effects of certain inorganic compounds (such as mercury and lead), trialkyltin, and low-molecular-weight organophosphate and organochlorine pesticides which induce nonspecific lesions of various regions of the nervous system, including the central nervous system (CNS) (Cremer 1981; Costa 1988; Kagan et al. 1988; Makhaieva et al. 1987, 1988).
