Popis: | In this paper we describe an investigation of the ion kinetic energy distribution (IED) with electron stimulated desorption of O+ from SO2 adsorbed on TiO2(110) at 153 K. The IED at the clean surface shows a bimodal structure with two well differentiated peaks, at most probable kinetic energies of 4 and 7.2 eV. The SO2 adsorption produces a dramatic change in the IED. There is a new peak at 2 eV kinetic energy, and the peaks at 4 and 7.2 eV vary in intensity according to the electron incident energy. The O+ ion yield curve shows, in addition to the onset at the Ti 3p core level at 35 eV electron energy, a second threshold at 160 eV corresponding to S 2p core level excitation. Changes in the IED curves following annealing of the SO2 layer at room temperature and 400 K as well as an adsorption model are also presented. |
