Popis: | Shear and compressional velocities and the attenuation of a 0.5 MHz ultrasonic wave in a machinable ceramic were accurately measured by the pulse transmission method over the temperature range from 30°C to 1000°C. The temperature dependence of the compressional and shear wave velocities and attenuation exhibits a marked feature around the glass transition temperature. The temperature dependence of the elastic modulus was calculated from the ultrasonic data. The elastic properties of the machinable ceramic at high temperatures are shown. |
