Popis:	In an increasingly digital age it is perhaps surprising that television – probably the most powerful of the mass media – is still largely transmitted in analogue. This is changing, however due to both increasing competition for terrestrial broadcasting frequencies and advances in satellite technology. A shift to digital transmission would allow many more television channels to be broadcast, and would allow many new features and interactive services to be introduced. Indeed, digital television is already available in parts of Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.
