The toy is an indispensable accessory for the development of the child. In view of this, it is essential that it is free from contamination from industrial processes in its manufacture, which may leave traces of potentially toxic metals that can cause health problems. The Technical Standard ABNT NBR NM 300-3: 2011, (Part 3: Migration of certain elements), regulates the maximum permissible concentrations of metals that may be present in the material, being a maximum of 60 mg / kg for chromium and 90 mg / kg for lead. The objective of this work was to analyze and compare the results of Pb and Cr with the current norm for toys of different price ranges. The analyzes were performed by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). From the results, there were high levels of chromium in all the analyzed brands, values higher than allowed by the legislation. For lead, there was absence of metal in the samples. |
