The Specifics of the Formation of the Temporal Competence of Students of Economic Profile

Popis: The problem of formation of temporal competence of students of economic directions of training is presented in this chapter. Theoretical aspects of time as a personal characteristic of a person are considered. The concept of “temporality” as a characteristic of personality formation is revealed. The types of personal organization of time and the structure of temporal competence are considered. Assumption about the influence of indicators of life satisfaction and procrastination on the formation of temporal competence of the person is shown. The study, aimed on aimed to identify the specifics of students of economic areas of training, is conducted. Such methods, as the scale of “Competence in time” (part of the test of self-actualization of personality [CAT]), the test “Index of life satisfaction,” aimed at identifying the general psychological state of a person, determined by his personal characteristics, the system of attitudes to different aspects of his own life, the scale of general procrastination Lay, were used in the study. Academic performance indicators were used as an indicator of the effectiveness of educational and professional activities of students. The results of the statistical selection, consisting of 180 students of different economic areas of training, were processed; its analysis is performed. Causal relationships between indicators of temporary competence of the person, the index of life satisfaction, the level of procrastination, and academic performance are revealed. The results of the study have practical importance for the development of educational material, used in the classroom for various discussions, in order to form the temporal competence of students and its further use in future professional activities.
