Popis: | The main goal of the present work is to study a powdered zeolite (PZ) adsorption/ultrafiltration (UF), with real secondary effluents and to evaluate its performance. With the assistance of powdered zeolites, the membrane fouling rate was reduced, the permeate flux recovery was improved and the enhancement of advanced treatment of secondary effluent was obvious. The analysis of three-dimensional excitation emission matrix (3D-EEM) fluorescence spectra indicates that the removal of fluorescence intensity for aromatic proteins, fulvic acid-like materials, soluble microbial by-product-like materials and humic acid-like organics was enhanced by powdered zeolites. Results of molecule weight (MW) distribution shows that the UF membrane with powdered zeolites can improve removal efficiency of organics, especially improve the removal efficiency of organic matters with MW lower than 3 kDa. The characteristics of cake layer on the surface of UF membrane was discussed by analysis of scanning electron microscope (SEM) and electron energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) for the combined adsorption-ultrafiltration membrane. |
