Popis: We investigate the mechanical properties of a cast stainless steel widely used in the engineering industry. Experiments were carried out in gaseous hydrogen under a pressure of 35 MPa. We established a slight hydrogen embrittlement of steel subjected to a high-temperature, gas-static treatment. This steel can be successfully used in brazed and welded structures. The appearance of “hydrogen cracks” in a metal in the process of elastoplastic deformation is most probable in the zone of a weld seam.
