Popis: Transparent overlays are being used in elementary schools to help young children pinpoint their own hand-writing illegibilities. This study reports a comparison of the handwriting achievement of children who used the transparent overlays for assessment and children who did not use the transparent overlays. A repeated measures multivariate analysis of variance resulted in significant differences in favor of girls when legibility, letter formation, and spacing were considered.
