Popis: | A photovoltaic (PV) is often considered as unreliable power generation because its output highly depends on the availability of sunlight. In order to know how reliable a photovoltaic is, a reliability calculation is important to be carried out. This paper calculates the reliability index of PV in the form of Loss of Load Probability (LOLP). The PV reliability calculation takes into account two factors, namely the availability of sunlight and the condition of the PV equipment (working or failure). Sunlight radiation data at every hour for a year are used in the calculation of PV reliability in addition to the probability of failure of the PV components. Solar radiation data are taken from HOMMER software for a location that is determined by the longitude and latitude coordinates. The calculation is carried out using the Event Tree method on a small hybrid system that consists of PV, a hydropower plant and a biomass power plant. The results are then validated by increasing the capacity of biomass power plant and PV, hence there are three scenarios of the generating capacity. Based on the validation that has been done, it can be concluded that the calculation method has succeeded in assessing the reliability of PV and LOLP calculation. |
