Popis:	The article is dedicated to the scientific, scientific-organizational and social-educational activity of the talented Ukrainian geologist, artist and poet, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the UkrSSR, Volodymyr Vasyliovych Riznychenko — the second director of the Institute of Geological Sciences of Ukraine. Together with academicians V.I. Vernadsky, P.A. Tutkovsky, V.I. Luchytsky, the scientist was at the origins of the Geological Committee, the Academyof Sciences and the Institute of Geological Sciences, the oldest scientific center in the field of geology in Ukraine.
