Popis:	The structure of germbudine has been elucidated as germine 3- d-threo -2′,3′-dihydroxy-2′-methylbutyrate 15- l -2 methylbutyrate (V). Oxidation of germbudine with periodic acid and subsequent alkaline hydrolysis afforded germine 15- l -2′-methylbutyrate (VIII).
