Popis: | This paper focuses on the emergence of dreams during psychoanalytic treatment that can be understood as portraying the patient giving birth to his or her own infant self. These nocturnal hallucinations seem most likely to occur in those who experienced perinatal difficulties, such as problematic prematurity, or entry into a family system unable to provide optimally loving care. Such dreams enable analysands to encompass their traumatic beginnings within the purview of psychic omnipotence. Through them, dreamers rewrite and revise their original script, thereby developing a more secure base from which to go on living in a healthier, more creative manner. |
