Popis: The majority of British General Practitioners organize their patient contacts through appointment systems. This paper examines the central position of appointments systems in a practice’s information system and examines the information resource which such system control. It is suggested here that the information resource can be classified as practice-centred, clinician-centred or patient-centered and that in each of these domains, the appointment system can be a powerful tool for providing information.
