The ejected-electron spectrum of magnesium autoionising levels following two-electron excitation to states of the type 4snl by low-energy electron impact

Popis: The ejected-electron spectrum of magnesium vapour following autoionisation of two-electron excited states has been extended to the Mg+ 4s 2S1/2 limit. Observations were made at 75 degrees to the incident electron beam direction for a range of incident energies from 27 eV to 500 eV. In addition to the 4snp1P1 series which is observed in photoabsorption experiments a new series is reported corresponding to 4snp 3P1.
