IPv6, as the next generation Internet protocol, has been proposed and developed by IETF to replace the traditional IPv4. Moreover, the IPv6 networks have been deployed in China called China Next Generation Internet (CNGI). Compared to traditional IPv4, one of the key advantages of IPv6 is its inherent mobility feature called Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) with which the mobile devices such as Laptop computers, PDAs etc. keep connectivity alive while roaming on the Internet. In this paper, we focus on modelling and analyzing the performance of mobility on CNGI. At first, we describe the mobility model, including all kind of supported features and configurations of mobility entities such as the Mobile Node (MN), Correspond Node (CN) and Home Agent (HA). Then, the simulation and performance analysis of mobility testbed on CNGI are presented. The results show that the MIPv6 on CNGI is suitable for future mobile Internet. |
