Popis: | Recently grown semiconductors exhibiting ferromagnetic properties can be very promising materials for optoacoustic applications. In these materials, the ferromagnetic phase transition controlled by the density of photoexcited carriers can bring about the generation of sound. The efficiency of this mechanism and the electron-deformation mechanism of photoexcitation of sound are compared. The duration of acoustic pulses generated by the change in the magnetic susceptibility of the sample is estimated. |
