Popis: | Complexes of biacetylmonoxime phenylacetylhydrazone (H2BMPH) with Co(II), Co(III), Ni(II), Cu(II), Pd(II) and UO2(VI) have been prepared and characterized by chemical and thermal (TG, DTG, DTA) analyses, molar conductivities, spectral (IR, NMR, visible, UV) and magnetic moment measurements. Changes in selected vibrational absorptions of the ligand upon coordination are discussed. The molar conductivities for the complexes lie in the non-electrolyte range. Based on magnetic and spectroscopic data, the structures for the complexes are proposed as follows: octahedral for [CO(H2SMPH)2(OAC)] and [Ni(HBMPH)2(H2O2], tetrahedral for [Co(H2BMPH)Cl2], square-planar for [Cu(HBMPH)Cl(H2O)], [Cu(BMPH)]2, [Ni(BMPH)]2 and Pd(II) complexes. TG, DTG and DTA data suggest a mechanism for degradation of the complexes which is a function of temperature. The solid Co(HBMPH)2(OAc)] complex has a unique decomposition exotherm profile which can be used as a rapid and sensitive tool for the detection of an acetate contain... |
