Popis: Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS) are repetitive surfaces which can be used to reflect, transmit or absorb electromagnetic fields based on the frequency of the EM field. These are the artificial substances of metamaterials which are used in a wide variety of applications. They have the filtering properties due to the virtue of the regular and periodic pattern on the surface of FSS. Most used applications of FSS are in the field of radio-frequency engineering of the electromagnetic spectrum. Some of the applications of FSS are isolation of unwanted and harmful radiation in microwave L- band and S-bands in hospitals, selective shielding of frequencies in military and airport communication. This paper addresses a detailed review on FSS and it's applications in various domains.
