Popis:	Extensive collections of plants were made in South Africa during the first half of the nineteenth century by three German collectors, Christian Friedrich Ecklon (1795-1868), Karl Ludwig Philipp Zeyher (1799-1858), and Johann Franz Drege (1794-1881).* The results were published in Ecklon and Zeyher's Enumeratio Plantarum Africae Australis Extratropicae (1834-37) and E. Meyer's Commentariorum de Plantis Africae Australioris quas . . . collegit . . . Joannes Franciscus Drege 1 (1836-37). These two books are of fundamental importance for the study of the South African flora, on account of the numerous species
