Popis: | Vacuum-ultraviolet fluorescence excitation and resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) spectra of IBr, cooled in a free-jet expansion, are reported. Resonance structure, observed in the region λ>179 nm, is greatly reduced on cooling and is ascribed to heterogeneous coupling betweenthe E(0 + ) ion-pair state and the a 6 Rydberg state. Observation of a new Rydberg series b 6 '[ 2 Π 1/2 ] c 6s(0 + )←X(0 + ) confirms the origin of the dip-resonance structure in the fluorescence excitation spectrum at wavelengths |
