Popis: | By utilizing the concepts of bispectra and quadratic transfer functions and nonlinear coherence, we are able to spectrally decompose and quantify the surge response of a tension leg platform (TLP) into its linear and quadratically nonlinear components and identify experimentally the lowfrequency wave drift force in a simulated irregular nonGaussian sea state. The approach is demonstrated with the aid of experimental data of TLP surge motion obtained from a scaled (1:54) model of a prototype TLP anchored in 1500 feet of water. |
