Popis: The goal of motion estimation design is to minimize the amount of coded information (residual frame and model information), whilst keeping the computational complexity of motion estimation and compensation to an acceptable limit. This paper introduce efficient fast motion estimation algorithms based on polynomial model to reduce the high computational demands of the H.264 video encoder, and these allow the designer to `trade' increased computational efficiency against reduced compression performance.
