Popis: 1. Mixed types of flow with a predominance of turbulence are observed when pulp moves through a ball layer in a magnetic separator. 2. A pulp current turbulence in the ball channels equal to 55–80% (corresponding to speeds of 15–30 cm/sec) is the optimum for the specific size class of the material being separated. 3. A decrease in the particle size of the material undergoing beneficiation (−0.05 mm or finer) requires a higher current turbulence to overcome the cohesive forces between the particles.
