The Electric Pulsed Hydride Injector is a device without moving parts. It has been designed for the intermediate storage of hydrogen isotopes in a chemically bound state at specially manufactured foils coated with titanium and for the liberation of these hydrogen isotopes by directly passing a current pulse through these foils. The evaluation of new experiments permits to broaden the understanding of the physics of gas generation from a foil. A detailed quantitative analysis of the routes of energy losses was carried out successfully with the help of a developed mathematical model of the injector operation using the obtained experimental data. The behaviour of several parameters characterising the dynamics of gas generation was investigated and conditions increasing the speed of gas supply with the injector down to 50 ms were found. |
