Popis: | On a yearly basis, worldwide, industries consume nearly half of the total power generated. This number keeps rising due to the global economic growth. It is said that motors are the heartbeat of the industry. These motors are highly responsible for such titanic consumptions. They are used to run conveyers, refrigeration and air condition systems and other automotive systems. Half of the total energy demand for the industries is used primarily for air compression. With such consumptions, there is a dire need of sustainable design to lower carbon footprint, and for energy efficient air compression systems. Thus, the researchers thought of an innovative way to improve the efficiency of reciprocating air compressor. The researchers designed a hybrid linear generator-reciprocating air compressor. This is a fusion of two technologies, linear electrical generation and reciprocating compressors. The idea is to design a hybrid linear generator-reciprocating compressor which performs the same functions pertaining to reciprocating mechanical systems and Faraday’s electromagnetic principles as it would generate two outputs and consume one input |
