A structure design method of a kind of fluid viscous dampers is presented and validated by tests.Firstly, the work principle of these dampers excited by the impact load is analyzed.Based on the Maxwell viscoelastic fluid model, the flow velocity and she ar stress of the silicon oil flowing through the gap between the piston and the cylinder of the damper are solved by using the method of separation of variables. Therefore, the damping expression of the damper is derived, and parameters in this expression are determined by using drop tests.Secondly, the detailed structure of the specimen damper is designed according to the damping expression. Mechanical characteristics of the specimen damper impacted by different velocities are researched by drop tests. On the one hand, theoretical curves are in good agreement with experimental curves, which validates the credibility of the model. On the other hand, the damping coefficient obtained from drop tests confirms the veracity of the calculated physical dimensions of the specimen damper. |
