On January 20 and 21, 1988, Daniel R. Bontrager of Archaeological Research Services, Inc. (ARS) performed a cultural resources survey of an approximately 130 acre parcel at the proposed location of the Interstate 10 - Outer Loop Freeway Interchange in west Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. The survey was requested and authorized by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for Project RAM-600-0-311 under Contract 86-39 with ARS for Statewide Archaeological Investigations (Project N-901-279) in order to determine if important cultural resources (which may include prehistoric or historic archaeological sites or objects, historically or architecturally significant structures or buildings) were present within the project area which could be adversely affected by the proposed undertaking. The project area consists of private land for which ADOT has obtained rights-of-entry for survey purposes. The parcel is defined by agricultural fields which are currently under cultivation. |
