X-ray diffraction experiments were performed on the first crystal of the ROEWI monochromator at HASYLAB in order to study its reflection characteristics and their dependence of thickness and cooling efficiency. Germanium (111) crystals with thicknesses of 5 and 1 mm were exposed to the beam from the wiggler W1 at the storage ring DORIS. The results are compared with temperature measurements using an infrared camera and heat-load calculations. For these calculations a one-dimensional model as well as finite-element methods are applied. |
