Popis: | In the article, the geological development history of the oil-gas bearing region of the Lower Kura depression were followed, and its paleotectonic, paleostructural, and paleogeographical conditions were investigated. The Lower Kura depression, located in the west of the Caspian Sea, occupies a special place as a geodynamically active area. The role of geodynamic activity in fold formation was evaluated and studied. Thus, the territory of the region is rich in mud volcanoes and industrially important oil fields. The influence of the compressive stresses created in the area on the formation, development and morphology of the folds to which the deposits are related has been studied and analyzed. Keywords: compressive stress, folds, tectonic slip, collision, brachianticlinal folds, isometric folds, direction of structures. |
