Popis: CIVILENS Dedicated Journey Program (CDJ) is a program carried out by the Civil and Structural Engineering Department's Students Club (CIVILENS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The aim of this program is to implement the teaching and learning (T & L) process in the lecture hall to the real world of practicing civil engineering using the highly recognised Conceive, Design, Implement & Operate (CDIO) concept and method. The program also aims at inculcating sustainable social responsibility in the CIVILENS. Apart from that, students also sharpened their soft skills such as leadership and team working, ethics and professionalism, communication, critical thinking, and scientific approach in problem solving. The program also involves the construction industry consultants and local community leaders. The expertise in handling civil engineering projects is shared among the CIVILENS in them realizing the actual civil engineering practical activities. The program outcomes (PO) measured are PO10 Individual and Team Work and POl2 Project Management and Finance. Indirect assessment shows that students have improved their achievements in both POs. However, the POs achieved through the CDIO design and built experience is yet to be assessed in the proposed improvement of running this project in Integrated Design Project syllabus.
