Popis: | Infiltrability of a porous TiC compact, produced by powder metallurgy technique, depends on the capillarity of the compact and the surface condition and nature of the individual particles. Capillary forces raise the liquid metal infiltrant into the interconnected pores of the compact and the complete filling of these pores is a function of their geometry as well as the wettability of the TiC particles. The paper deals especially with the improvement of this wettability through surface conditioning of the TiC particles. |
