Perceptions on Gender Role Identity in Male and Female Adolescents

Popis: | Objectives: To clarify the gender role identity of university male and female students have the significant implication for them to understand their school adjustment problems and career preparation behavior. Methods: Each 30 male and female adolescents who were selected as P samples were forced to distribute 40 Q samples on 9 point scale. Results: From the Q factor analysis, male adolescents’ gender role identity were identified: ‘empathic warmth’, ‘assertive power’, ‘sensitive-expressive’, ‘taciturn warmth’. Female adolescents’ gender role identity were identified: ‘sensitive warmth’, ‘assertive power’, ‘sensitive power’. Conclusions: The results of this study can be used as basic data for the development of programs to help the adaptation problems based on the characteristics of gender role identity of male and female adolescents. |
