Previously reported research examining the performance of higher‐order correlation detectors for band‐limited transient signals using hypothesis testing has been extended to include alternate detection methods, detector performance as a function of signal‐to‐noise ratios (SNR's), and time‐delay estimation. In particular, frequency‐domain detection has been compared to detection in the time domain. Probability of detection is determined for example transients at a fixed false alarm rate over a domain of SNR's. The accuracy of time‐delay estimation is investigated for these signals using higher‐order correlation estimators for the same noisy transients.
