Popis: | There are two main reaction stages in the pyrotechnic combustion of ternary mixtures of silicon, boron and potassium dichromate. The first stage is the reaction between boron and potassium dichromate. Silicon is involved only in the second reaction stage, which propagates the combustion. The first stage acts as a trigger for the second and, in the absence of boron, mixtures of silicon and potassium dichromate are much more difficult to ignite. |
