This project implement a self-synchronized synchronverter which means inverter without a committed synchronization unit. It is an inverter which replica of synchronous generator, that is it possess all synchronous generator characteristics. By using voltage droop and frequency droop characteristics synchronverter can automatically synchronized with utility grid. The synchronverters are connected to utility grid via various passive filter topologies such as L, LC and LCL filters. In this project, design of LCL filter is accomplished and conceptual analysis of a grid tied synchronverter carried out in Matlab/ Simulink software. For the interface between inverter and utility grid filter is required. It is used to reduce current harmonics produced from converter switching frequency. In this project comparison between LCL and L filter carried out. For proper operation of LCL filter, it is designed appropriately to gain high quality performance. From simulation results, the LCL filter with synchronverter has reduced THD. |
