Popis: 1. The isomeric composition of isoamylenes formed during hydrogenation of isoprene on a Pd-Pb catalyst is not significantly dependent on the conditions of the reaction and differs from the equilibrium composition. The rate of formation of each isomer is described by an equation similar to the general kinetic equation for hydrogenation of isoprene into isoamylenes. 2. In the presence of isoprene, the isoamylenes formed are not retained by the surface of the catalyst, and their isomerization and subsequent hydrogenation thus does not take place. 3. A scheme in stages is proposed which explains the mechanisms of selective hydrogen ation of isoprene and isotopic exchange observed. Kinetic equations which coincide with the experimental equations can be obtained based on this scheme.
