Shading is one of lots of factors that can reduce performances of photovoltaic panels and decreases their reliability. This paper is devoted to analyze the operation of different PV array configurations in which PV modules can be disposed in many other forms to mitigate the partial shading effect. Simulations are presented to evaluate the proposed physical arrangements. This evaluation is done through a comparison of performances of various configurations and arrangements under different scenarios. Studied configurations are parallel-series, honeycomb, linked-bridge, and total cross tied and an optimal TCT configuration is proposed. To investigate performances of PV array configurations four shadow patterns are applied. |
