Manufacture of low-molecular-weight hydrocarbons by the hydrogenation of coals in a mixture with tire rubber

Popis: The behavior of a polymer-containing material (scrap rubber tires), the structure of which can be tentatively considered equivalent to the structure of the organic matter of coal whose fragments are joined in multimers as a result of electron donor-acceptor interactions, was studied in order to convert rubber tires into low-molecular-weight compounds suitable for the manufacture of motor fuels and chemical products. An analysis of the results obtained by the hydrogenation of industrial rubber articles in a mixture with coal from the Kansk-Achinsk Basin showed that raw materials of this kind can be deeply converted into low-molecular- weight hydrocarbons under certain conditions, which can be generated without high hydrogen pressures (20–30 MPa), which are used in foreign industrial practice.
