Popis: The ‘Addiction Module’ completes the existing OPD 2 system, allowing the assessment of patients with substance dependence or abuse. As well as adding specific new items to the different axes the central construction of a ,spiral of addiction’ is introduced. This offers the possibility to formulate a diagnostic focus of the addiction and to assess it in terms of a central aspect of addiction: namely its subjective adoption by the patient. Thus for the first time an OPD-based psychodynamic procedure for diagnosis, therapy and evaluation of the course of dependence-related illnesses is presented. The paper explains the concept of the OPD ‘Addiction Module’ and introduces the additions in a brief version. A detailed manual is currently being tested. Prerequisite for the practical work with the module is the basic knowledge of the OPD 2 system.
