A review of multivariate calibration techniques and their possible application to data from partially selective sensor arrays is presented. The techniques of analysis of linear models, progressing from multiple linear regression and principal components regression to partial least squares, are discussed in terms of their respective ability to handle interferences and collinearity. Additional analysis models are introduced to detect underlying background problems for sensor arrays and the ability to quantitate analytes directly by rank annihilation factor analysis when two dimensional data are obtained. |
