Extraordinary attributes of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) for instance large network sizes and quick topology changes make it hard to keep up communication links resulting in frequent link disconnections. Since VANETs are a critical element of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), routing should be given in a way that fulfills any Quality of Service (QoS) limitations. In this paper, we propose a link prediction based approach to predict the duration of availability of the present path. This methodology expects to anticipate a connection breakdown before its incidence and directing the data packets through a substitute route. In order to evaluate the accessibility of an active link to the neighboring modules, we intend to make use of Newton's divided difference interpolation. In view of the data given, a substitute route will be developed even before the connection breaks when the connection is likely to collapse. Results of simulation approve the adequacy of the algorithm for the planned link prediction. |
