Popis: | 27th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 293-297 The reported work evaluates the advantages for a photovoltaic (PV) cell under illumination of combining energy production, storage and conversion of heat losses in a single passive system. It is shown that the storage of latent heat using phase change materials substantially delays the PV yield decay, and that the simultaneous use of a thermoelectric generator amplifies the yield. The combination of storage and conversion is also shown to induce three different responses for the system output power. It enables either an instantaneous burst or an output power stabilization over the complete daylight cycle or a delayed and schedulable burst. As a result our study validates the concept of using a passive system to handle the heat influence on a standard PV system, thus preventing the energy production and yield to be critically affected. |
