This chapter describes the simultaneous use of several different fields. It focuses on a network with two ordinary contacts x and y . The network can have four positions: x = 0, y = 0; x = 0, y = 1; x = 1, y = 0; and x = 1, y = 1. This means that the pair Z = ( x , y ) is a variable that takes four values Z = (0, 0), Z = (0, 1), Z = (1, 0), and Z = (1, 1). The chapter discusses bistable relays. An actual operation of ordinary relays is also described in the chapter. Any two-valued working function of two-position and three-position contacts can be realized by means of a series–parallel network. Networks with ordinary and polarized relays are also analyzed in the chapter. |
